Why would I choose Stellar for my roofing needs?
|
|
|
-
A
high-performance roof takes more than just shingles. The performance
of any roof depends on an entire system, including ventilation, hip and ridge shingles, flashing’s, felt underlayment, ice/water shield, metal valleys, and attic insulation. Even the highest-quality shingles
cannot work alone. We will provide the right materials to provide maximum durability for your roof and the most protection for your home. Standard
upgrades that we use to ensure uncompromised quality, include 6 nails per shingle, rake edge starter, and 30# felt.
-
We
proudly endorse asphalt shingles from Owens Corning®, GAF/ELK®, CertainTeedTM, MalarkeyTM, and TAMKO®, and tile from Eagle Roofing
Products®. We will provide you the necessary information to make
the right choice of material, durability, style, and color, plus wind, algae, impact, and hail resistance for your home. For metal roof applications, at a minimum, we will provide 24 gauge, PVDF coated Galvalume.

What is Photovoltaic Solar?
|
|
-
Solar panels capture
the energy from the sun and convert it into electricity. The electricity is used to power the home and any excess is added to the grid. Since
solar electric has the potential to provide us energy independence,
has no green house effect, produces for up to 40 years, and has virtually
no maintenance, there are significant financial incentives for residential
installations.

|
Why
combine roofing and solar?
|
|
-
The
#1 warranty concern with solar installations is water leaks. In the
same way a qualified electrician is required for the service connections,
be sure that a qualified roofer is installing your rack attachment points.
-
Building Integrated
Photovoltaics (BIPV), using thin-film technology, provides far superior
aesthetics due to it’s low profile. It also has cost advantages since less material is required and it is installed exactly like conventional
roofing. As you would expect, thin film is the fastest growing segment
in solar.

Why
provide a FREE home energy audit with all solar installs?
|
|
-
Although Solar
Electric is a great way to reduce your energy needs, it’s not
the only way. Qualified HERS or BPI Energy Raters can provide a list
of retrofits along with their costs and benefits. These minor improvements
can have a better financial impact than solar and should be undertaken
by the homeowner. This often results in a smaller, less costly, solar installation and improved comfort within the home.
